The company we’re going to talk about is named Riway and apparently, this deer placenta is the only product they market. It’s making a hype now not only because it’s unique but also because it’s pricey.
I know you have tons of questions, such as if these placentas are effective, if this will give you a good opportunity to make money, or if the platform is worth your time and money.
Don’t worry, I’m not an affiliate of Riway so rest assured that I will provide an unbiased review to help you decide whether you should join this platform or not.
What Is Riway About?
Riway is multi-level marketing (MLM) that markets supplements containing deer placenta, claiming to heal and avoid diseases.
It primarily targets Asian countries including Singapore (Riway’s global headquarters), Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Taiwan, Hongkong, Japan, and the Philippines.
It operates on the nutritional supplement niche and it is based in Singapore.
The CEO and founder of Riway are Dr. Lim Boon Hong.
He founded Riway in 2008 when he was about 33 years old in response to a growing need from the market to have a righteous direct-selling company that focuses equally on both the importance of a good product and the financial income of affiliates.
Apparently, it’s his first time to head an MLM but he was an affiliate for NuSkin, well-known personal care products, and dietary supplements MLM.
Riway Product Line
The main product marketed and sold by Riway is mainly the supplements that come from the deer placenta which they call Purtier Placenta.
- PURTIER Placenta is a form of oral live cell therapy that contains deer placenta live stem cells. It also capsulizes diverse youthful ingredients to preserve, restore and revitalize the body's tissues and organs to keep a person blooming. A quick Google research would even state that a deer placenta bottle from other brands starts on pricing around $50-$60.
- Conscientious - “The elusive elixir for the skin”, this is a luxurious essence spray is infused with potent high concentrations of the finest, purest and most botanical ingredients, directly from nature’s best onto the skin.
- Facial masks both available for male and female
Is Riway A Scam?
Riway comes with a business opportunity with real products and a compensation plan.
However, their products, especially the one derived from deer placenta, have bold claims. For instance, it markets itself as a supplement with medicinal effects, which may be used for curing cancer.
I’m not saying that it’s not effective but supplements like this with no scientific proof should avoid making such claims. Also, it’s overpriced so imagine, what if you bought something expensive thinking that it will help treat your illness but since it has no approved therapeutic claims, there’s a chance that it won’t work.
Is Riway A Pyramid Scheme/Ponzi Scheme?
Riway may come with retailable products. However, it can be in danger of becoming a pyramid scheme because of the terrible retail opportunity here as their products are overpriced. This makes it challenging for their affiliates to earn, making them rely on the other way to earn money and that is to recruit.
If there’s no more sales and if the only way to make money is to recruit, it might be labeled as a Ponzi scheme. The same thing goes if the company compensates recruitment more than the sales aspect.
To learn how Ponzi schemes work, you can watch the video below:
Riway Compensation Plan
Apparently, Riway does not provide a copy of their compensation plan on their website, which is a drawback. Perhaps the only way to learn more about this is to join the brand or inquire to them directly.
However, I found a source based on the Philippine compensation plan, which contains a combination of SGD and USD.
Basically, there’s no mention of the retail commission, which is quite alarming.
1 PV – commission SGD 0.90, product purchase $1 SGD.
Recruitment Commissions - Riway affiliates are paid to recruit new affiliates. Payout is determined by how much a newly recruited affiliate spends when they sign up and how much the recruiting affiliate spends on their own signup package.
- Silver Riway affiliates receive $26.97 for recruiting a Silver affiliate, $53.97 for a Gold, $101.87 for a Platinum, and $175.36 for a Diamond.
- Gold affiliates receive $30.36 for recruiting a Silver affiliate, $60.72 for a Gold, $114.60 for a Platinum, and $197.28 for a Diamond.
- Platinum affiliates receive $33.73 for recruiting a Silver affiliate, $67.46 for a Gold, $127.33 for a Platinum, and $219.20 for a Diamond.
- Diamond affiliates receive $33.73 for recruiting a Silver affiliate, $67.46 for a Gold, $127.33 for a Platinum, and $219.20 for a Diamond.
Residual Commissions - Riway pays residual commissions via a binary compensation structure. Subsequent levels of the binary team are generated as required, with each new level housing twice as many positions as the previous level. Positions in the binary team are filled via direct and indirect recruitment of affiliates and there is no limit to how deep a binary team can grow. At the end of each day, Riway tallies up new sales volume on both sides of the binary team. Affiliates are paid a percentage of generated sales volume, based on which package they signed up with:
- Silver affiliates receive an 8% residual commission rate
- Gold affiliates receive a 9% residual commission rate
- Platinum affiliates receive a 10% residual commission rate
- Diamond affiliates receive a 10% residual commission rate across three binary positions
Matching Bonus - Riway pays a Matching Bonus on residual commissions and paid out down on up to 3 levels of recruitment (unilevel).
- Silver affiliates receive 10% match on level 1 (personally recruited affiliates)
- Gold affiliates receive a 10% match on levels 1 and 2
- Platinum and Diamond affiliates receive a 10% match on levels 1 to 3
How Much To Join Riway?
Riway is pretty costly and joining as an affiliate requires buying one of their starter packages as follows:
The following is the name and price of different packs:
- Silver – $375.68
- Gold – $755.29
- Platinum – $1425.88
- Diamond – $2450.98
The primary difference between the packages is the included product and income potential via the Riway compensation plan. Basically, the more you pay, the more products you get and also you get a lot of incentives if you buy the more expensive packs.
Pros/Cons
PROS
The health claims and testimonies of the affiliates may appear convincing but with no approved therapeutic claims from approved institutions, it’s all useless. So for me, nothing seems desirable in this opportunity. It’s even on the verge of becoming a Ponzi scheme.
CONS
Not Transparent
Website may look techy and it’s too spacious that only a couple of pieces of information are placed. It’s lacking vital information, such as the compensation plan which I believe is a major red flag in any business. I believe such information should be made readily made available to everyone.
Too Expensive
The price of the product itself is so expensive, especially the main product -- Purtier Placenta. As mentioned, a bottle price of deer placenta from other brands would only cost around $50-$60 but with Riway it’s indeed overpriced, thus making it difficult to sell such products.
Their products are not even tested nor approved by any health claims, which is another red flag! Why buy an expensive product that is not worth its price?
Dangers Of Being A Pyramid Scheme
As mentioned, Riway products are expensive so it’ll be hard to sell them.
This would make affiliates opt for recruitment and it’s probably gonna be the main source of income, making Riway in the danger of becoming a pyramid scheme.

Training Tools/Support
Riway develops, oversees and conducts comprehensive and robust training programs and supporting tools for their affiliate/ distributors. Contact and support are as well available for them.
Final Opinion/Verdict
To sum it up, Riway is an MLM that offers the so-called deer placenta that claims to heal stage 4 cancer. However, with claims not backed up with proof, it's all useless and it turns out a little scammy.
It’s also pretty expensive to join and the products are overpriced, making it difficult to market and sell them. And if that's the case, affiliates will opt and concentrate more on recruitment, which might put the brand at the risk of being a Ponzi scheme.
It’s also not transparent with their compensation plan, which is a major red flag. They offer a money-making opportunity yet they did not make an effort in sharing what this is about.
Other than this, the income potential and success rate is slow so I suggest that you look for other options. If you are fond of MLM, there are good alternatives to choose from. Otherwise, you can check the next section for our #1 recommended program.
