However, being an MLM company and we all know the reputation and business model of these companies, it is going to be extremely challenging for you to try to make a consistent and stable living with it. Especially if you have a small circle or an introvert. It will be very difficult and you will need training on selling.

 26 August 1998: The Attorneys General of Arizona, California, New Jersey, and Texas publicize a multi-state settlement with Morinda. The charges stated that Morinda had made "unsubstantiated claims in consumer testimonials and other promotional material that its Tahitian Noni juice could treat, cure or prevent numerous diseases, including diabetes, clinical depression, hemorrhoids, and arthritis."

 February 2003: Tahitian Noni sued XanGo, alleging that executives of the company stole Tahitian Noni's concept for a mangosteen-based supplement while they were employed by TNI's parent-company. XanGo counter-sued Tahitian Noni.

 February 2007: Residents of Spain were alerted to stop consuming certain improperly labeled bottles of Tahitian Noni Juice while the health department there awaited toxicology reports for a man who died after drinking the juice.

In my opinion, the company survived the strings of controversies due to the solid support of its clientele. If you go to product reviews, it is arguable that effectiveness varies to the people who use it.

The product line continues to evolve. Morinda's team of experts is comprised of doctors, scientists, and researchers, spending time on the creation of a new product. 

Gives Back To The Community

Morinda is helping back the Tahitian by providing scholarships and educational aid, including orphanage support. The company is a lowkey supporter of corporate social responsibilities (CSR) efforts. Aside from this, they also support education and training for some of their independent distributors.

Overpriced Products

Expensive products are the usual comment that you will hear upon the mention of Morinda. As compared to similar products from direct competitors and those that you can see in the local supermarkets, the products the company sells are more expensive and this is a crucial pain point for the retailers.

Distributors Have No Control

Auto shipment is a deal-breaker because the distributor has no control over the number of products he/she only needs. This forces the distributor to just take them, regardless if they're sold or not. This makes it troubling for retailers because inventory will just keep on piling without any means to get rid of them as fast as they can.

Morinda is fit for anyone capable of selling the products. Of course, it helps if you have a background in marketing and sales pitching because it will be easier for you to approach and make a sales pitch. It would also be fit for people who have a big social network. 

But most of all, I think Morinda is fit for people who advocate healthy living and have tried the products themselves. It will be a great persuasive power to be able to share recommendations based on personal experience. You should first believe in its value and capabilities rather than creating make-believe principles. After all, bad side effects resulting in negative feedback are a no-no on the company's brand and reputation.

In conclusion, Morinda is not a scam and is a legit company with good products to sell. Regardless of the controversies, they faced in their early business years as a start-up multi-level marketing company, they were able to bounce back from it. The company grew across the globe and has a solid list of clientele supporting the products and the company.
