The good news is that there are over a hundred choices in one niche alone; the bad news, however, is the business model’s scheme.

It’s challenging compared to a regular buy-and-sell business because not only will you sell overpriced products, you are often required to focus on the recruitment, too. Nonetheless, not all MLM companies are created equal, and researching it is one way to know if it’s worth your time or not.

In this post, we’ll talk about one of the oldest companies in the networking industry -- Eniva -- to answer the most important questions.

What is it about? How does it work? Is Eniva a scam or a legit MLM program?

What Is Eniva About?

Founded in 1998 by Benjamin and Andrew Baechler, Eniva is a health and wellness company that promotes various products, such as supplements, protein shakes, nutritional beverages, and more.

There are also products for personal, lifestyle, and cosmetics.

Like typical MLM companies, there are two main ways to earn, and one of which is by becoming a distributor and recruiting people to join the platform.

It’s one of the longest operating companies in the networking niche but unlike its competitors, it’s not making much noise online. However, it’s not because it’s a scam. In fact, it’s legit and when it comes to its founders, these are real people with solid experience in business and health.

Benjamin, for example, has a medical degree while Andrew, his brother, is an entrepreneur who has experience with network marketing. Considering this, the two executives must have the skills and expertise to grow the brand.

When it comes to legalities, Eniva is compliant with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Good Manufacturing Practices. It’s also well-regulated by the DSHEA, FFDCA, and the Minnesota Department Of Agriculture.

If this is not enough, here’s another thing: Eniva is accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) with an A+ rating.

These are just some of the things you won’t see in an MLM scheme. Perhaps, one reason why they’re not making a buzz is that they don’t focus on enticing people with huge ROI and lavish lifestyles instead, they put their attention on the quality of their products.

For me, this is so much better because one, they complied with all the requirements, and considering that they are selling wellness products, it’s the right thing to do so. Another reason is they don’t trick people into joining. It’s a tactic that gives MLM a bad impression and I’m glad that Eniva is far from that.

They may not be as popular as the others but they have a lot of edges over their competitors.

However, this has not been enough. In 2011, Eniva filed for bankruptcy protection but after a year, they were able to recover from debts.

Eniva Product Line

Eniva has tons of products to choose from. On their website, you’ll find several categories for Vitamins & Supplements, Protein & Fitness, Beauty, and Lifestyle.

The good thing about this is that their products are safe and registered with the right authorities and that there is a variety. If you’re a seller, you have a wide market because there are many products to choose from.

If you’re a buyer, you don’t have to go from one store to another because there’s a chance that whichever health and wellness product you’re looking for is just here.

However, it can also be a disadvantage. As a seller, it would be hard to know all the details about the products because there are almost a hundred essentials to know. It can also be a challenge to market these because, well, there are just a lot of items to promote.

Is Eniva A Scam?

No, it’s legit.

In fact, it’s one of the good companies under the MLM scheme that I’ve seen. Often, I see networking businesses that have a lot of bold claims, saying that their products are “life-changing” or the first when it’s not properly registered anyway.

Unlike usual scams, this program doesn't guarantee a huge income every month and although there are drawbacks, at least it doesn’t have any allegations or lawsuits against it at the time of this writing.

But then, it filed for bankruptcy protection a few years ago and who knows when it might happen again?

Is Eniva A Pyramid Scheme/Ponzi Scheme?

Eniva is not a Ponzi scheme. It's a legit MLM company that has complied with authorities, produced quality products, and provided a legal way to make money.

Although you can recruit to earn commissions, you are not promised a huge amount of cash. Also, when you have invited another person to join the program, you are not compensated directly for doing so rather, you earn commissions if they make a sale.

A Ponzi scheme doesn't work that way and before anything else, it’s downright illegal. There’s always a promise of high returns and while early investors receive compensation directly from their recruits, those who are at the bottom of the pyramid barely earn anything.

It works like this: you, as the investor, pays cash for their membership and when you invite a new person, the amount they’ve invested is used to pay you.

That makes the business model unstable. Why? It’s because if the recruitment stops, so does the profit.

Would you really trust this business scheme?

Eniva Compensation Plan

There are a couple of ways to make money with Eniva but before you can earn commissions, you should keep your account active. This means buying the required Personal Volume (PV) a month that’s around 49 PV or at least $75 worth of products.

You also need to have at least $75 for the backup Smart Order, and I’ll discuss more of this in a bit. For now, here’s a quick outline of their compensation plan:

Retail Commission

As a distributor of Eniva, you have access to their wholesale price and this lets you sell the products based at the suggested retail price and earn retail sales.

To get the amount of commission, you just have to subtract the retail price from its wholesale price.

Override Commission

There are different ways to earn an override commission. First is getting a one-time commission worth $35 for letting a friend sign up for Eniva Whole Club.

Another is by sponsoring managers and encouraging them to purchase at least $75 worth of products within a month so you can earn $100.

Like typical MLM companies, there are also other incentives, such as a $500 car bonus or a $200 lifestyle bonus, and the higher your rank is, the bigger the chance to get this and more commissions.

Here’s an outline of their ranking:

  • Manager
  • Area Manager
  • Regional Manager
  • Senior Regional Manager
  • Executive Regional Manager
  • Regional Director
  • National Director
  • Executive National Director To National Vice President

How Much To Join Eniva?

Joining Eniva is free and you can also get the following perks:

  • 25% discount for the retail price
  • Free shipping for the first order

However, as mentioned above, you have to maintain a certain amount of PV every month to keep your account active. This costs $74.95 worth of products and another $74.95 for the backup Smart Order every month.

Pros/Cons

PROS

Regulated Company With Quality Products

As mentioned, Eniva has registered with all the necessary agencies to make sure that the business operation they are running is legal and that the quality of their products is not compromised.

It’s not usual for me to see an MLM company dedicated to making their business prosper legally so I salute Eniva for this!

Focused On Retail Sales

The compensation plan rewards those who will recruit but it’s not solely focused on it. Their products have good reviews online and the brand seems to improve it even more so distributors can earn from the retail sales alone.

CONS

Required PV A Month

You need to pay at least $150 a month to keep your account active and this is for the backup order and the required PV. It can be daunting for some distributors but compared to other MLM companies, this is cheaper.

But then, it would be better if this is not a requirement so their members are not forced to buy products just to receive commissions, especially those who are having a hard time selling.

Imagine, you have barely sold an item last month and now, you have to buy more again.

Training Tools/Support

Like typical MLM schemes, training is provided by the company and the sponsors itself to help distributors learn about the products and how to market it.

Final Opinion/Verdict

Overall, I like Eniva because it’s legal and it complies accordingly. It’s not overhyped and although there are car incentives, it’s not focused on presenting a lavish lifestyle that members can get when they join the brand.

The founders are well-equipped when it comes to the skills, expertise, and experience in running a health and wellness business. Another thing I like is that, even after 20 years in the business, it has not been involved in any serious allegations.

The compensation plan is simple and typical.

The only thing I don’t like is the required PV a month since it can still be a burden, especially to those who are new to MLM and selling itself.
