Java Momma Review – Legit Affordable Coffee MLM Company Or A Scam?
Welcome to My Java Momma Review!
Other than health supplements, one of the most popular products of networking companies is coffee. In this website alone, we’ve reviewed almost a dozen caffeine-related brands, such as Gano Excel, CELLiS, DXN, and more.
Java Momma Review Summary
Name: Java Momma
Website: www.javamomma.com
Founders: Brian And Melissa Shoop
Product Type: Multi-Level Marketing
Price: $20 To $65 For The Starter Kit
Quick Summary: ava Momma is a networking company that mainly promotes coffee. They also have cocoa and teas and an opportunity to make money online. As an MLM, they let their distributors earn cash by selling their products and through recruitment.
Overall Rating: 5/10
Recommended: No
Indeed, it’s a famous product because 1.) many people love coffee and 2.) it’s packed with nutrients. Meanwhile, multi-level marketing (MLM) makes it more enticing by adding benefits, such as weight loss and anti-aging components.
In this post, we’ll talk about Java Momma, another coffee-related company that offers ways to make money at home. It follows an MLM structure so expect selling expensive coffee products and recruitment.
What Is Java Momma About?
Java Momma is a typical multi-level marketing company that sells coffee, cocoa, and tea. This is a new brand founded in September 2017 by Brian and Melissa Shoop. According to the founders, their company’s main focus is on building “customer relationships.”
Their members or distributors are called “baristas” and they offer their products and MLM opportunities to the US market.
According to its website, Melissa has been involved in various direct sales companies while Brian was a Computer Analyst. The good news is that one of the founders has experience when it comes to network marketing and that they are both legit people.
Java Momma Product Line
Java Momma’s main products are coffee, and it comes in a variety of flavors, such as Chocolate Caramel Kisses, Blueberry Crème, Victorian Caramel, Coffee Couture, and Mexican Medium Roast.
They also promote Cocoa and Tea and just like their coffee line, it comes with different flavors to choose from.
Their price ranges from $2.50 (tea) up to $12.99 (coffee). There are cheaper alternatives online but compared to other MLM products, Java Momma’s are way cheaper.
Is Java Momma A Scam?
Java Momma is not a scam. It’s still new in the market though so it’s early to conclude. However, based on the reviews online, the company is legit and it comes with tangible products you can sell as their distributor or barista.
It’s not accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB); however, it has a record on it with an A+ rating.
Just to be clear, BBB is not an authorized government agency that tells whether a business is legit or a scam but it can help consumers know a little bit more about the brand.
For instance, it has a rating system and page that contains feedback or complaints about the brand. As for Java Momma, here’s what I found out.
It has 3 out of 5 stars and it’s mostly because of delays and poor customer service. That’s ironic since according to their site, their focus is on customer relationships. Here’s a screenshot for reference:
While it’s a legit company, complaints like these can influence the decisions of their aspiring customers and baristas. Since they are barely new to the MLM industry, they can still address this and I hope that they will do this asap.
Is Java Momma A Pyramid Scheme/Ponzi Scheme?
No, Java Momma is not a pyramid scheme nor a Ponzi scheme. It’s a legit MLM company that has tangible products and a legit opportunity to earn. There is a need to recruit but it’s far from being a scam.
If you’re one of those who are confused between a networking company and a pyramid scheme, you’re not alone. I also thought that both are scams but I found out that MLM is a legit business model while the other one is not.
You see, networking, network marketing, multi-level marketing, or MLM for short is legitimate. You can make money through it by selling their products and earning from retail commissions. You can increase your commissions or bonuses by recruiting people; however, you don’t get money from this directly instead, you earn from the sales they make.
Ponzi schemes and pyramids are almost the same. For one, it’s illegal in many countries and states, and two, both are unstable. Another common characteristic of these business models is that they offer massive ROI to entice investors.
The only way to earn money from pyramid schemes is to recruit people. The idea is that you invest money first and then invite friends and families who will do the same. The payment from new investors will be used to pay you.
Once the recruitment stops, your profit will cease, too.
Here Is My Top Recommendation to Start Highly Profitable Online Business from Comfort Of Your Home
Java Momma Compensation Plan
To join and make money with Java Momma, you need to have a sponsor first. This means that you have to contact any of their baristas or distributors or you can request a distributor nearby.
Like most MLM companies, you have to buy a starter kit first and I will talk about this below. For now, let’s talk about the compensation plan.
There are four ranks available and for each rank, you need to meet certain requirements so you can advance to the next rank. The higher your rank is, the bigger incentives you get. The ranks are as follow:
Barista
As a Barista, you will earn 20% for retail sales and a 10% discount on their subscriptions.
Java Gourmet
To achieve this rank, you need to have at least 5 direct recruits, at least $50 in Personal Volume (PV), and at least $500 sales from your team.
Java Leader
To achieve this rank, you need to have at least 20 personal recruits or your recruit’s recruit, at least $200 in Personal Volume (PV), and at least $1,500 sales from your team. You also need to have at least 1 Java Gourmet on your downline.
Roaster
To achieve this rank, you need to have at least 50 personal recruits or your recruit’s recruit, at least $300 in Personal Volume (PV), and at least $3,000 sales from your team.

This includes teas, 1 barista workbook, and a replicated website.
Pros/Cons
PROS
Cheaper Membership Fee And Products
Normally, the membership fees and products of MLMs are expensive, with prices ranging from $100 or more. There are also tons of costs to shoulder for distributors and this is one thing that made Java Momma standout.
Member Of Direct Selling Association
Another thing that would support its legitimacy is the Direct Selling Association. Java Momma is a member of DSA that will help answer whether it’s a scam or not. It’s still new and it still has a lot to prove but it’s good to know that they are making efforts in
CONS
Poor Customer Service
Considering that their main focus is customer relationship, I don’t think the complaints about their customer service is helping. Based on the screenshot above, there’s a need to improve this. They are just almost starting on their business so they must handle this first otherwise, it may affect their brand.
Low Income Potential
It’s an MLM and studies and even experiences from MLM participants suggest that only 1% of distributors really succeed in this kind of business model. Unlike a typical business, there’s a need to recruit people and sell overpriced products.
Java Momma may not be overpriced but still, it follows an MLM scheme. You have to recruit people and sell a specific quantity to advance your rank and earn more. Also, since there are tons of competitors selling the same brands, it would be difficult for this new company to standout.

I'm so grateful that I was able to find THIS PROGRAM which helped me to finally start making money online!
Training Tools/Support
Java Momma provides a workbook for its barista to help them know more about the brand and how to sell it. Like typical MLM companies, your sponsor, and even the executives of this brand are most likely to offer training so you can learn how to grow your business.
As for the support, it has negative feedback from its distributors and consumers.
Final Opinion/Verdict
Java Momma is one of the legit MLM opportunities that I like because it offers affordable products and memberships. There are no other costs to be shouldered by baristas or their distributors.
It’s a member of DSA and so far, it’s maintained a good reputation. There are no red flags other than the poor customer service, which I think can still be improved.
