What Is Univera About?

Univera is a health and wellness network marketing company that provides health essentials and skincare products.

It was founded by Yunho Lee in 1976 but has only begun direct selling its products in 1999. Lee has also founded other companies, such as Namyang Aloe Ltd., in Korea and Aloe Research Foundation with his son, Bill Lee.

In remembrance of his father’s legacy, Bill also founded Aloecorp and Unigen.

At the time of this writing, Bill is the Chairman of Univera.

Univera Product Line

Univera has one mission: “to bring the best of nature to humankind.”

Their products mostly consist of Aloe Vera -- one of the most popular plants because of its benefits. For one, it’s known for relieving sunburn. It’s also used as a natural laxative, to lower blood sugar, and as a skincare essential.

What made Univera’s product line more powerful is its own team of dedicated scientists working and studying for the improvement of their essentials, including cell renewal.

On their website, you can see various categories, such as:

  • Bone and Joint Care
  • Digestive Health
  • Energy and Mental Clarity
  • For Him and Her
  • Heart Health
  • Immune Health
  • Optimal Health
  • Personal Care
  • Superfoods
  • Weight Management
  • Digital Catalog
  • Product Specials
  • Clearance Specials
  • Money-Saving Packs

As mentioned, it consists of nutritional supplements and skincare essentials, such as facial cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. You can also find other personal care products, such as shampoo and conditioner.

The price range for their single nutritional products is between 34.39 to $92.44 and $1,000+ for their bundle.

The brand and the products are almost the same as GNLD, Zinzino, and EvolvHealth.

Univera Product Reviews

Some of their products are available on Amazon so I was able to check feedback from their consumers and the majority of the review is positive. That’s one good sign that the brand does offer quality essentials.

We’ve attached a screenshot below:

However, there are also negative reviews and mostly, it’s because of the price of their products. This is not a surprise though since MLM companies are normally known for their expensive essentials and membership fees.

How To Make Money With Univera?

Like other MLM companies, there are two basic ways to make money with Univera. As a direct selling company, you have to sell their products and earn up to 20% per sale. This depends on the starter kit and the wholesale price you get as a member.

The retail profit you get also depends on the type of customer you have; if it’s a one-time customer, you earn 20% and if it’s a preferred customer or a customer who signed up to their program, not as a distributor but only a member, then you get 10% per sale.

You also get commissions from inviting people but unlike pyramid schemes, you are not compensated directly for the successful sign-ups rather, you earn bonuses from the sales that your downline makes.

The percentage you get depends on your rank so the higher your rank is, the bigger incentive you get. It also depends on the level of your member, therefore, you have to encourage your team to make more sales and invite new people so they could get a higher rank.

Is Univera A Scam?

Operating for more than 20 years with almost a clean reputation, it only shows how legitimate Univera is.

It’s also a member of the Direct Selling Association so you know that it’s not a pyramid scheme trying to disguise itself as a network marketing program. Also, despite being NOT accredited with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), it has an A+ rating.

We just want to clarify one thing as most people confuse MLM with pyramid schemes.

First of all, these are two different things.

MLM, which is also known as multi-level marketing, network marketing, or networking is a legit business model. It offers tangible products to the market that are quality despite being overpriced. Some may offer services, such as coaching and they require people to invite other individuals to earn commissions.

However, the members don’t earn commissions directly for recruitment rather, they compensate them for the sales that their team makes.

Considering the products they sell, this kind of business is sustainable.

A pyramid scheme, on the other hand, will only ask their members to recruit “investors.” The idea is to pay a certain amount in the hope of inviting people who will pay the same amount , too so you can earn. It’s not sustainable, especially to those who are at the bottom of the pyramid.

Here’s a quick video for you to learn about the difference of an MLM to a pyramid scheme:

Price

To start making money with Univera, you have to become a member first and that means purchasing any of their starter packs ranging from $179 to $999.

The higher the membership fee, the more products you get. For example, their Personal Use Pack that costs $179 has $267-worth of products; their Business Pack that costs $499 has $499-worth of products; their Executive Pack that costs $999 has $1,402-worth of products.

Pros/Cons

PROS

Legit MLM Company Operating For A Long Time

MLM is a challenging business not only for its members but also to the founders. There are a lot of network marketing companies that have been shut down because of several reasons, such as unethical practices, low revenue, etc.

That being said, Univera is clearly doing something good because it’s not easy to stay in the industry for more than 20 years, let alone 10 years. It shows that they have enough revenue to operate the business and compensate its people and good products to market.

Unique Product

Yes, health and wellness are already saturated and it’s hard to stand out, especially for new companies. However, aside from being one of the longest operating brands, they also focus on a unique yet popular product -- Aloe Vera.

Knowing how effective the plant is, there’s a huge chance for it to gain interest from the market.

CONS

Expensive Products

This is expected for most MLM companies. However, despite being usual, it’s still a drawback since there are a lot of cheaper alternatives online that 1.) won’t require consumers to look for a distributor 2.) sign up as a preferred customer to get a lower rate.

Low Income Potential

I checked their Income Statement Disclosure and I found out that the average income that their Associates get every year is around $284.66. That’s only $23.72 a month -- barely enough to survive.

This is not a surprise though since it’s not ideal to make MLM as your main source of income unless you’re experienced with sales and recruitment.

Who Is It For?

This is ideal for experienced MLM distributors who are interested in health and wellness products. Those who have used their essentials and like it can also give their opportunity a try since they can personally attest to its results.

Final Opinion/Verdict

Univera is a legit MLM company that offers high-quality products. Considering the number of positive reviews they have on their essentials, it might be worth a try but that is if you have extra cash.

The price of their health supplements and personal care is expensive and you can easily find cheaper alternatives online and offline. The advantage of Univera, however, is that they already made a name so more or less, people know about it.

Actually, it’s one of the few MLM companies that I like because other than operating for more than 20 years, the brand has not been involved in any scandals.
