In this post, we will talk about a direct sales clothing company called Agnes & Dora. It’s legit although there’s a debate whether the brand is a multi-level marketing (MLM) company or not.

First things first, MLM is a legit business model. It offers two or more ways to make money and while there’s recruitment going on, members are not directly compensated for their invites.

There’s a negative stigma about networking companies though but we’ll try to clear it out in a while.

Another issue to discuss is whether Agnes & Dora is still operating or has it already shut down?

More questions will be verified as we go along with this updated Agnes & Dora review. 

Agnes & Dora, as mentioned, is a direct sales company that promotes clothes, such as leggings, shirts, and dresses.

It’s almost the same as LuLaRoe, CAbi Clothing, and Ruby Ribbon.

Founded in 2013 by Buffy Bandley, who was the niece of Deanne Stidham, the founder of LuLaRoe. According to a source, the brand’s name came from a book called “The Secret Power Of Feminity”

The brand focuses on distributing fashion staples to women.

While the market seems limited since it only caters to women, there’s a good chance for this opportunity to become profitable. Why? Because of the trend nowadays. 

Since more of us are becoming conscious of the aesthetics of our social media platforms, such as Instagram, some people invest in how they look. This means buying clothes, whether they need it or not, for the ‘gram.

However, there are certain challenges, for one, the brand itself. The fashion industry has been saturated by many clothing brands so unless you know how to make your line stand out, then there might be a problem.

Another concern is its quality and price. There are cheaper alternatives that offer the same or even better quality in the marketplace. Meanwhile, those who have extra cash to splurge on clothes probably want to go with designer brands.

That being said, there are too many competitions and Agnes & Dora, being still relatively new to the industry, will need more time to prove their worth.

But then, not to discourage those who are interested in this brand, there’s probably a good reason why Agnes & Dora is making abuzz online.

Is Agnes & Dora Shutting Down?

The brand itself is still operating; the one that’s been closed is their Brand Stylish Program.

This program lets members look for their sponsors and build a team so they can earn more commissions other than the retail sales.

According to a source, the founder, Buffy, sent an email last March 23, 2020, to its members, letting them know that the program will be closed. Some of them received their checks while some of them not.

The good news is that Agnes & Dora is far from being a scam.  It's even accredited with BBB. There are complaints though but so far, it’s not as controversial as the ones where most MLM companies are involved.

The business model they follow, direct selling, is also legit; however, reports are tagging it as more like an MLM program.

To be clear, the brand is not a networking company but whether they will go in that direction or not, we still don’t know.

However, they do have a program called Brand Stylist. This offers members an opportunity to make money through networking and building a team. But then, as mentioned above, they’ve already shut it down.

Neither.

Agnes & Dora has proven to be a legit business model, following a direct selling structure. There’s no heavy recruitment involved and their main source of income is through retail sales, thus not a pyramid scheme. 

Also, it does not offer a guaranteed or high return of income, unlike a Ponzi scheme.

It has a telltale of being an MLM company because of their previous program but then even if it’s still running, there’s nothing sketchy about it based on my opinion.

The only way to make money with Agnes & Dora is by selling their products. This is not a bad thing because there’s an opportunity in retail sales.

Personally, I know people who are making money by selling clothes, like the ones from Agnes & Dora.

As for Agnes & Dora, there’s a good chance to sell their items because it’s almost unique. The design and colors are also appealing to the current trends today.

Another edge is their pricing, some products are less than $50, which is cheaper compared to other MLM companies.

As a member, you can earn as much as 50% profit from your sales, and for me, that’s just fair.

At the time of this writing, the brand only accepts those who are living in the US. The brand also has a “waiting list” so you can’t start right away.

Nonetheless, here are the costs that you should expect when you want to join Agnes & Dora:

Registration Fee $149 - This includes your own website, training resources, and membership.

Business Packages - There are three packages or collections to choose from and of course, the higher the amount is, the more products included. 

• The Friends & Family Collection – $1500
• The Launch Collection – $2500
• The Boutique Collection – $3500

For a fashion business, the cheapest package they have is fairly reasonable but still, quite expensive. Therefore you really have to decide whether such an opportunity is worth your time and money or not.

Also, considering the challenges as a new brand in a saturated niche, you have to work out a lot of things just to be sure that your investment won’t go to waste.

Legit Business Model

Agnes & Dora is not a pyramid or Ponzi scheme, it’s not even an MLM. It’s a legit direct selling company that focuses on retail sales. It’s still new though so it’s too early to assume anything.

Promotes Women Empowerment

Since it’s targeted at the female market, the brand empowers women through entrepreneurship, which for me, is a great thing. Despite the market being saturated with similar products, there’s a good chance that members can make a living out of it.

Of course, just like other businesses, it depends on your time, skills, and will.

CONS

Expensive Membership Fee

While it’s fair for any business like this, $1,000+ is a huge amount, especially for beginners. It will probably take time before you can get your investment back. 

If you have extra ash, maybe you can use it as a side hustle if you’re beginning rather than your main source of income.

Agnes & Dora includes training videos in their membership fee to help members grow their business.

They also have customer support to assist you in case you have concerns or clarifications.

Overall, Agnes & Dora is a legit direct sales company you can consider if you’re passionate about clothing and selling. They have good selections of clothes, leggings, dresses, and more. The brand is also far from being a scam but then, there are a few things to consider.

The first one is the investment. You need to pay for their membership fee and also the business packages or collections. While this is normal, you need to spend more than a thousand dollars to begin. 

If you really want to make money and reduce expenses, you can look for cheaper alternatives or even start your own clothing line.

Another drawback is the number of competitors you have and that includes other brands, other MLM companies, and your co-distributors.

Again, if you’re interested in this platform, it’s best to consider it as a side hustle rather than the main source of your income.
